Engineered Hardwood
Engineered wood is the best wood flooring option for areas with high amounts of moisture and in hot/humid climates. They also provide stronger and more durable surface finishes than solid wood floors. This is because they typically use a combination of both aluminum oxide and polyurethane. This product category accounts for 90% of wood flooring sales in Florida. Wood naturally wants to expand and contract due to moisture, humidity, and temperature. Engineered products have plys (layers) of real wood that run perpendicular to one another. These perpendicular running plys help slow down the natural expansion and contraction of wood in these mentioned climates.
Porcelain Tile
Porcelain tile is a newer form of ceramic tile and extremely popular among homeowners. It is stamped with a pattern to look like stone, marble, or even wood. Porcelain tiles are com-posed of fine porcelain clays and fired at much higher temperatures than ceramic tiles. They are stronger, more durable, and less absorbent than ceramic tiles, and well suited for indoor and outdoor applications. Some tiles come rectified, which means they can be laid with a 1/16 grout joint (approx. thickness of a credit card). Other features to consider when pur-chasing tile are texture, finish, through body coloring, size, variations in color, and pattern.
Luxury Vinyl
Vinyl or Resilient Flooring has always been popular in many areas due to its durability, resistance to stains and water, and affordability. It is mainly used in commercial or high traffic areas but is now being seen in more residential areas due to its variety of colors, patterns, and sizes. Thanks to some advancements in styling and technology, Vinyl/Resilient flooring can be made to replicate the look and textures of natural stone, porcelain tile, and graining in hardwood flooring.
Mosaic Tile
Mosaics are generally used as a vertical element such as kitchen backsplash, accent wall, or bathroom accent.
Laminate
Laminate flooring is a man made material made to look like real wood or natural stone. The fact that it is manufactured makes it a very durable and a well-priced flooring option for consumers. Most laminate products consist of an HDF (High Density Fiber Board Core) and a melamine veneer design layer. This design layer is a picture made to look like wood or tile. These components are pressed together and covered with a very strong transparent and protective layer. This type of flooring product is great for high traffic areas and families with dogs and/or kids.
Carpet
Carpet has always been a popular choice of material due to its ease and cost of installation. Carpet is available in a wide range of fiber types, textures, patterns, weights, densities and backings. They all have their own different characteristics and stain resistant qualities. The important attributes about carpet are the performance, feel, look, and durability. Different types of carpets are better suited for different lifestyles.
Solid Wood
Solid wood is one solid piece of wood made from one particular species (for example oak, maple, or hickory). It is typically 3/4 of an inch thick but can be as thin as 5/16 of an inch. Solid wood floors can be sanded and refinished a few times by a professional sander and refinisher. These types of floors can be purchased unfinished or pre-finished. Unfinished solid wood can be sanded in place and custom stained to a desired color. Pre-finished solid wood comes in natural colors or pre determined stained colors and top coated with a factory finish. There are hundreds of different varieties of solid wood that can be manufactured into flooring. Solid wood is more common in the northern parts of the United States.
Molding
Moldings are transitions in different shapes to accommodate the transition of flooring from room to room, room to wall or one type of flooring to another.
Adhesives
Adhesives are glue used to install engineers flooring. In this category are adhesives and primer.
Natural Stones
Natural Stone comes from mountain cores and underneath the ocean floors. It is cut into blocks and sent to manufacturers to be cut and finished in the desired sizes and finishes. Every piece of natural stone is different from the next. They all have their own characteristic's, which makes them uniquely different. They will have range in color, shading, veining, etc. Different types of natural stones include marble, travertine, limestone, slate, granite, sandstone, and quartzite.

The most common materials used for countertops include granite, quartz, marble and limestone. Natural stone countertops are one of the most popular types of countertops, and they are ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and workrooms.
